B-day Dinner!

A while ago, when I decided to start blogging .... again, I was planning (and drivning people mad!) a birthday dinner... and I thought I'd take some pictures but it got so insane that i didn´t have time to take that many.


The menu:
Starter: Caesar Salad...No photo...But i did have help from Madde & M.J making the salad..and K.J gave me the idea to make a Caesar salad....Thanks for the help!!

Main course: Mozzarella and pesto stuffed chicken, oven-roasted vegetables / potatoes and pink Tzatziki.

Mozzarella and pesto stuffed chicken, that looks like a mess!



Potatoes, carrots, beets, peppers....and..i had something else in it too but i can´t remember what it was.



I did a tzatziki with beetroot and cucumber which made it turned pink! The boys loved it!



 Dessert: Frozen chocolate & vanilla cheesecake.....No photo but i can tell you a secret! I dropped it on the floor! It jumped around.....on the floor, but landed on the right side! It was frozen and enclosed in plastic so nothing happened to it..but my heart nearly stopped!


I also made pink marshmallows....what a mess! The batter was like glue but kind of easy to make... Next time I'll have more vanilla or some flavoring in it and less salt..

Hurts.....

I bought the CD Happiness by Hurts, a while ago. It has been a long time since I have liked all the songs on a CD but with Happiness...I love all of them!...I really like the lyrics, I mean ... just read this:

Wonderful Life

The songs are like.. when you're sitting and staring out the window .. and thinking of old times and you feel a bit .... blue but then something happens ....and you don´t feel as blue anymore.....

 

The synthpop band Hurts consists of 2 British guys, the singer Theo Hutchcraft and synth player Adam Anderson. Hurts was founded in 2009 in Manchester or so i have read. Happiness is their debut album and contains a duet with Kylie Minogue entitled "Devotion".

 

I read that they are going to be at these places this summer:  Isle of Wight Festival, Glastonbury Festival, T in the Park, Latitude Festival, V Festival, M'era Luna and Elevation Festival.... Go see them=)

A.....poem....maybe...I have no idea!

I've probably listened to HURTS...a bit too much last week! This popped up in my head:

Life .... the road that always ends in one way or another.

But the journey on the path is different for everyone.

Sometimes we take a path that looks beautiful & safe , but then it becomes a nightmare.

You meet people ,either they help you on your way or stop you...cold in your tracks.

If you make someone fall....Do you reach out and help? Or do you leave them on the side of the road?

If you fall ...If someone else makes you fall .. Do you stay on the ground or do you dust yourself off and move on?..

Walk your road ... follow your path ... Don´t allow others to come and force you on to their path...their road...

My house!

A few years ago I bought a house .... a real fixer-upper! No sewage, no running water, no toilets...But i do have electricity! I have 5 rooms, which will become: a kitchen, living room, 2 bedroom and dining room( in Swedish it sounds huge *matsal* but it's really not!). It´s not a big house but when people ask how may rooms there are, they become surprised!


And what has been done? Lets just say: i still have 5 rooms that will become ------ but i hope the bedrooms will get done this summer.  

But we have repaired the foundation, but the floor in the dining room and living room has to be fixed. 2 rooms ( a bathrooms + an extra room), will be built on the back of the house and a porch that goes on one of the short side of the house.



We have also repaired the front of the house. It is perhaps a bit hard to see in the photo but you get an idea how it looks:o)



I have been given a lot things from family and friends, that are scattered all over the place ... I have beds, chairs, a desk, my great-grandmother's dining room furniture (She has been gone many years so it´s nice to have something from her) but do you know what is a dear thing, that is already in my house? My front door! Strange huh? The door is my grandparents' front door, which I got from the new owners of my grandparents house.



There will be a big party when it's finished ... BIG... because people have invited themselves for years to the housewarming party...I really hope they don´t all come at the same time!! So i may need help with planing that!

I will be blogging about my house, I might ask you what you think about things. I hope you don´t get too bored!

The Room And The Briefcase

I just read:
The Room And The Briefcase and  it´s written by the British writer, Kristian Johns.  It´s partly about a guy, who is held captive in a basement or something similar. He's been down there so long that he begins to forget his old life but he tries to remember to get the strength to survive. A man comes and goes..dressed in a suit & tie and carrying a briefcase .. feeds him without saying a word.
And then there is Kyle, a escort, who one day gets a phone call that will change both their lifes forever.

Do you know the concept of Causality? Cause and effect? *An action or event will produce a certain response to the action in the form of another event.*-Wiki 
The Room And The Briefcase is about just that, how people's lives are changed by either a sick mans cruelty or others people's hunger for money.

Might get sued, but here is a bit of story:
*There are two thick metal rings buried either side of me and I’m shackled to them, crucifix-style by heavy chains. There’s enough play in them for me to sit up, scratch my face and stuff like that, but the cuffs are inlaid with rows of sharp spikes which have pierced my skin and will rip my wrists to ribbons if I try to pull them out.*

I like K. Johns style of writing. The way he described things and feelings..it makes me feel like i´m there..maybe that why  I read the end with teary-eyes and with my hand over my mouth.

I really liket it and i hope to see more from him!
 

What is it?..It is a ------- & Did somebody guess it?

Everybody said it was a cage of some sort ... except one! I asked at various places and after 3-4 minutes of FB, came the first post: I think it will be a greenhouse!





AND ..... Yep! It is a small greenhouse!!

  I hereby appoint Madeléne "Madde" J to be the world's smartest person! 

(Maybe it helps that she has known me since ancient times ... or since I was 6 months and she was new born ... She knows how my brain works! + she is the smart one of the 2 of us!)
